Intel’s Free APO Software Boosts Gaming FPS: New Core Ultra 200S CPUs and 12 More Game Titles Supported
Intel has introduced a significant boost to gaming performance with the release of its Intel Application Optimization (APO) software, now verified for the latest Intel Core Ultra 200S processors, codenamed Arrow Lake. These CPUs, including models such as Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and Core Ultra 7 265K, are designed to work seamlessly with APO, ensuring optimal hardware resource allocation for active applications, which can result in up to a 31% improvement in gaming frame rates.
APO is compatible with 12th Generation and newer Intel desktop and laptop processors, provided they have at least six P-Cores. While APO is available in advanced mode for systems without a verified CPU, Intel’s latest Core Ultra 200S processors are fully supported, making it easier for gamers to maximize their system’s performance. However, the Core Ultra 5 245K/KF processors are not officially compatible with APO, but advanced mode usage remains an option.
The software is especially beneficial for those looking to boost their gaming performance without additional hardware upgrades. Intel has expanded APO compatibility to four generations of processors, and now gamers with the latest Core Ultra chips can take full advantage of this software for a smoother gaming experience.
In addition to hardware support, Intel has expanded the list of games that benefit from APO’s performance optimization. Initially, only Metro Exodus and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege were compatible, but Intel has steadily increased support, adding twelve titles in March and twelve more recently. The current list of APO-optimized games has grown from 14 to 26, offering a wider range of options for gamers.
Newly supported games include popular titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite, Dota 2, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The Total War series also sees major support with Total War: PHARAOH, Total War: THREE KINGDOMS, and Total War: WARHAMMER 3. Even older games like Company of Heroes 3 and Naraka: Bladepoint are now included in the list, highlighting the broad spectrum of titles that can benefit from Intel’s APO.
Although some of the newly added games are older, their continued popularity and frequent use in gaming benchmarks make APO’s optimization an appealing option for many gamers. The addition of games like Cyberpunk 2077, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Counter-Strike 2, often used to measure system performance, further solidifies Intel’s commitment to enhancing gaming experiences through software improvements.
With Intel’s APO, gamers can download additional frames per second without needing to upgrade their hardware. Whether you’re upgrading to Intel’s latest Core Ultra 200S processors or sticking with an older compatible CPU, APO offers a free and effective way to enhance gaming performance.
